Ryoichi Wada, a Japanese writer best known as the co-creator of the 2017 horror comedy film One Cut of the Dead, launched a crowdfunding campaign for his new ninja anime project NINJAMASX on Kickstarter on December 22. It tells an adventure story of six descendants of ninjas rising up to save the world in the future in the United States.

The

Wada established connections overseas through the success of his film and was surprised at the amount of respect for entertainment, then he decided to make a film for the world. He says, "NINJAMASX is my original vision. I have a great international team of creators who share my vision. Together, we want to bridge the power of Japanese storytelling and creativity, with people around the world! "

The

As its first step, he started this crowdfunding campaign for the production costs for a two-minute trailer yesterday. Its goal was 3.5 million yen (30,660 USD), and it was achieved within a day. As of this writing, with 16 days left before the end of the campaign, it has collected 3,578,997 yen (31,350 USD) from 157 supporters including 76 Japanese.
