Previously, the author of the BEASTARS manga series, Paru Itagaki, confirmed on the NX on Netflix Twitter account that the second season of the hit show will be launching on the streaming service in 2021, though without a specific date.

The 20th volume of the BEASTARS manga released in Japan on August 6. Viz Media is releasing the series in English, with the 8th volume currently up for pre-order. They describe the series as such:

At a high school where the students are literally divided into predators and prey, it's personal relationships that maintain the fragile peace. Who among them is a Beastar–an academic and social role model destined to become a leader in a society naturally rife with mistrust?

The first season of BEASTARS aired on Fuji TV's +Ultra anime block from October to December 2019 alongside a weekly release on Netflix Japan. Netflix released the TV anime worldwide in March 2020.
