Blade of the Immortal Anime Adds Six Sword Masters to Its Cast

Manji, the ronin samurai who is cursed with immortality in the Blade of the Immortal TV anime.

Six new cast members have been revealed for Blade of the immortal Known (known in Japan as Mugen no Juunin -IMMORTAL-), an upcoming anime based on the dark fantasy seinen manga by Hiroaki Samura about a ronin who is cursed with immortality until he can atone for his crimes by slaying 1000 evil men.The new cast members include:

Anotsu Kagehisa, a sword master in a light green kimono with a massive iron sickle in his hand and a short sword at his waist.

Nozumu Sasaki as Anotsu Kagehisa.

Magatsu Taito, a masked sword master in a blue kimono with a two-handed sword at his waist.

Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Taito Magatsu.

Kuroi Sabato, a heavily armored sword master with a pair of swords at his waist.

Eiji Hanawa as Kuroi Sabato.

Shizuma Eiku, an immortal swordsman dressed in the clothing of a wandering monk.

Shunsuke Sakuya as Shizuma Eiku.

Otono-Tachibana Makie, a lady sword master with short hair and a purple kimono.

Houko Kuwashima as Otono-Tachibana Makie.

Abayama Sosuke, a middle aged sword master who is missing his right arm.

And Shinya Fukumatsu as Abayama Sosuke.

An English language version of the the original Blade of the immortal Manga is published by Dark Horse Comics, who describe the story of the series as follows:

Manji, a ronin warrior of feudal Japan, has been cursed with immortality.To rid himself of this curse and end his life of misery, he must slay one thousand evil men! and his quest won't end until the blood of a thousand has spilled!

Blade of the immortal is directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki and features animation production by Liden Films.The series will be distributed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video beginning in October of 2019.
