This year's 40th anniversary celebration of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise continues, and Anime NYC is going above and beyond to join the festivities.In what will be his only U.S. appearance as part of the anniversary event, Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino will be in attendance as an Official Guest at Anime NYC this November.
Gundam fans can look forward to Tomino participating in panels, autograph sessions, and special events, making him a key part of Anime NYC's larger Gundam 40th celebration.Other events include the final US contest for the 2019 Gunpla Builders World Cup, the winner of which will go on to compete in Tokyo against model makers from around the world.

Central to Gundam is Director Yoshiyuki Tomino. His realistic approach to war and robots defined Gundam and redefined storytelling in the anime industry. Gundam’S impact continues to this day and has influenced countless popular titles including Evangelion, Macross, Patlabor, Code geass, Full Metal Panic, Knights of Sidonia, and VOTOMSMr. Tomino has remained involved across Gundam’S 40 year history, and he ’s personally created and directed many of Gundam’S television series and feature films including Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, Char ’s Counterattack, Gundam F91, Victory Gundam, Turn A Gundam, and Gundam Reconguista in G.
