K-ON! Anime Celebrates 10 Years with Encore Rebroadcast in Japan

If you've been looking for an excuse to revisit the K-ON! Kyoto Animation 's series is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a special Encore rebroadcast in Japan, with episodes every Thursday on TBS starting on April 4, and every Saturday on BS- April 6.

K-ON! first kicked off its initial broadcast in Japan back in April of 2009. Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice, Liz and the Blue Bird) directs, with Reiko Yoshida on scripts at Kyoto Animation.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America and released it on home video. Here's how they describe it:

The Sakuragoaka Girls' Academy curriculum traditional focus on the three “R” s of reading, writing and arithmetic, but Ritsu Tainaka wants to add two more “R” s: Rock and Roll!
