Japanese publisher Shueisha and its Jump brand have long defined a significant portion of the manga industry and continue to push into all-new areas, including a variety of publication mediums and even video games. Today, the company announced that their latest venture will be a vertical reading service called JUMP TOON, which is expected to launch sometime in 2024.

The inaugural JUMP TOON AWARD was also announced, the winner of which will receive serialization on the service and a million yen in prize money (approx. U.S$7,120), as judged by editor-in-chief Takanori Asada. Applications are open until August 31 and results will be announced in early October.
