The prestigious Fujimoto Awards, named after the Toho Studios film producer Sanezumi Fujimoto who worked with the likes of Akira Kurosawa and Mikio Naruse and sponsored by the Eiga Engeki Bunka Kyokai (Film Theater Culture Association), announced their 2022 winners today, based on movies released in Japanese theaters from January 2022 and March 2023, showing that anime has swept.
Winning the top honors was THE FIRST SLAM DUNK, with One Piece Film Red creator Eiichiro Oda, producers Hiroaki Shibata, Kei Kajimoto and Ken Takano honored the Special Award and capping off the anime winners, producers Katsuhiro Takei and Mikito Bizenjima winning the Newcomers Award for Blue Giant.

Live-action film Fragments of the Last Will won the Encouragement Award with the producers from Sickness That Leads To The Death Penalty and Shikakenin Fujieda Baian joining Blue Giant in the Newcomers Category.
