Cygames Delays Granblue Fantasy: Relink to 2023

Granblue Fantasy: Relink has been delayed to 2023, Cygames announced. The game was supposed to release this year, but that's no longer the case.

"Although internal and external circumstances pertaining to the novel coronavirus have been the primary hindrance to the development process, the entire staff has spared no effort in pushing to make up for lost time," explains producer Yuito Kimura in a statement on the game's website. "However, considering the large-scale scope of this title, we believe more time is needed to further polish and optimize details and gameplay as we approach the final stretch."

Kimura adds that graphical resources, scenarios, voices, music, and other assets are completed. At this point, the development team is refining the game by balancing combat, squashing bugs, and improving the audio and graphics.

He also says that more information was supposed to be revealed this month, but now those details will be revealed in December.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
