International Manga Anime Festival Reiwa Toshima Announces Guest Speakers and Events

The International Manga Anime Festival Reiwa Toshima will be back for 2021, offering discussions and workshops for anime and manga fans around the world. iMART2021 Marks the second of its kind, the first taking place in 2019. This year's is a joint venture between Tokyo's Toshima Ward and the iMART Executive Committee.

iMART aims to address the global expansion of anime in terms of both creativity and business. In advance of next month's event, a few guests and events have been announced.

Love Hina And Magister Negi Magi Creator Ken Akamatsu Will be giving a special lecture on internet piracy and regulation of "leech sites" (websites that curate and propagate links to pirated anime and manga). Director and mechanical designer Shinji Aramaki Will team up with Julian Lai-Hung From Crunchyroll's branch in Japan to discuss making anime across national borders.

Panels and lectures will also be held on the use of software and game engines in anime production, modern anime criticism, women in the anime industry, holding anime and manga-related events during the pandemic, and more.

A crowdfunding campaign on Motion Gallery Is currently underway for this year's event. Sponsors can get tickets to either the event itself, or access to videos of the lectures. There are also three tiers for corporate support.
