Manga Artist Masakazu Katsura Celebrates 40th Anniversary of His Career at Special Exhibition

 

 

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the career of manga artist Masakazu Katsura (Wing-Man, Video Girl, DNA², I''s), his first large-scale exhibition "40th Anniversary Masakazu Katsura: The World of Character Design" will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo from April 27 to May 8, 2022.

 

The event's official website and Twiiter revealed a newly-drawn key visual featuring Wing-Man and Aoi from his debut work Wing-Man today.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Katsura was born in 1962 and made his professional manga artist debut with Wing-Man in 1983. The event will introduce his past manga works as well as illustrations other than manga. Visitors will be able to enjoy the world of Masakazu Katsura, including collaboration illustrations and costume designs, which defies the boundaries of manga. In addition, his original character design sketches for TIGER & BUNNY2 will also be on display.

 

At the venue, a wide variety of limited products will be available, including character fine graphs, character fine boards, clear files, clear posters, clear bookmarks, and various other items with newly drawn illustrations. Regular admission tickets of 1,500 yen will be on sale from April 12 to May 8.
