The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Makoto Isshiki's Piano no Mori / Forest of Piano manga announced today that 56 – year – old Hiroyuki Yamaga, best known for his and Gainax 's feature film debut work Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise in 1987, is newly served as director for its upcoming second season, in place of the first season's Gaku Nakatani.

After working at DreamWorks as writer / CG supervisor from 2005 to 2013, Nakatani made his directorial debut with the first season. The reason for the change is not mention.
