Voice actress Rie Tanaka, who has played a variety of anime characters including Lacus Clyne (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed) and Suigintou (Rozen Maiden), will launch a new music unit with two Swedish rock musicians, Patrik Leonheart and Simon Andante. The two are are ex-members of a Swedish art metal band called BatAAr That have toured the world.

The name of the unit is Uz: ME (pronounced U-Zu-Me). The unit features Rie Tanaka on vocals, Patrick and Simon writing, arranging and producing songs that make Tanaka's voice sound even more appealing. Their debut single "SEARCHLIGHT" will be released on February 25, 2022, and digital pre-order is now available. The song is composed by Patrick, and its lyrics are written by Kazuya Miwa, the vocalist / guitarist of the four-member Japanese rock band Narudora. It is said to be an emotional song that combines a heavy Djent feel with 8 string guitar sound and J-Pop.
