Chainsaw Man TV Anime Broadcast Begins on October 11

The official Chainsaw Man TV anime Twitter account announced today the upcoming adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga will begin its broadcast on October 11. It was also revealed that MAPPA will host a live stream of the special on-stage speech event from the Chainsaw Man world premiere in Japan on September 19.


The stream starts at 8 PM Japan time on September 19 and will feature the four main cast members, Director Ryu Nakayama and some “major news” announced during the speech portion. A YouTube premiere page for the Chainsaw Man event has already been launched and can be found below. (Note: The airing of episode one will not be a part of the public live stream).






VIZ Media releases the Chainsaw Man manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto in English, with all eleven volumes of Part 1 out now. Chainsaw Man Part 2 began its serialization on the Shonen Jump+ digital manga magazine, Shonen Jump app and Manga Plus app on July 13.

Ryu Nakayama (JUJUTSU KAISEN Episode 19 Director)
 directs Chainsaw Man at MAPPA, based on scripts by Hiroshi Seko (Mob Psycho 100JUJUTSU KAISEN) 
and character designs adapted by Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation)
. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs in Japan, with Chainsaw Man set to premiere on October 11 at 24:00 JST (effectively, 12 AM on October 12). The series is described as such:


Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. 

One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as "Chainsaw Man" — a man with a devil's heart.
