Dropkick on My Devil! Event in Hokkaido on November 7 is Canceled due to Arson and Death Threats

The official website for the Dropkick on My Devil! anime franchise announced on October 29 that “Thank You Dropkick! in Sapporo,” a live event that was scheduled to be held at the Odori Park Hall in Hokkaido Adachi Academy in Sapporo-city, Hokkaido, on November 7, has been canceled due to arson and death threats. 

The anime’s five main voice cast members – Aina Suzuki (Jashin-chan), Nichika Omori (Yurine Hanazono), Yurie Kozakai (Pekola), Rico Sasaki (Poporon), and Marina Yamada (Pino) – were planned to join the event, along with a special guest Snow Miku.

The site writes as below:

Regarding the “Thank You Dropkick! in Sapporo” event scheduled for November 7, we have received an arson threat against the Odori Park Hall in Hokkaido Adachi Academy, the venue of the event, and death threats against the guests and visitors of the event. The Sapporo Central Police Station in Hokkaido has accepted a damage report on this case, and has given us advice and crime prevention guidance. And after discussions with the venue, we regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel the event.

Due to the effects of the new corona virus, Dropkick on My Devi! has not been able to hold a live event for about two years, and we have been well preparing for this event to meet the expectations of our fans. In spite of our efforts, we are truly sorry for this outcome. We are especially sorry for those who were planning to come to the event from far away, and for those who had prepared flowers and gifts for the event.

We hope that we will be able to meet you again at another time, after we have conducted adequate security and safety checks. 

Purchasers of the event ticket will receive a full refund of the price. In addition, as an apology, all of them will also receive a music video Blu-ray disc of “Thank You Dropkick!,” which was planned to be used at the event, and a “Thank You Dropkick!” acrylic key chain, which was planned to be given as souvenir.
