If you were messing around online this weekend looking for something to do, you might have noticed the folks at speedrunning organization Games Done Quick putting together a bite-sized marathon. This impromptu event was dubbed Corona Relief Done Quick, and it managed to raise more than $ 400,000 for Direct Relief, which provides Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to healthcare workers on the front lines during the pandemic.

Among the items the donations will help distribute are masks, gloves, sanitizer, gowns, and other PPE healthcare professionals need most.Direct Relief also works to support small community clinics by providing essential prescription medication where necessary.

Corona Relief Done Quick squeezed in nearly 50 runs from Friday morning to Sunday night, including marathon mainstays like Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania (two-loop race), and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (all dungeons race), as well as newcomers like Doom Eternal and Pokémon Sword. You can catch any you missed via the Twitch archive, or wait for GDQ to upload them to YouTube.
