The official Love Live! website revealed today – the day after the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club 4th Live! ～Love the Life We Live～ which announced more details on the second season of that group's TV anime – that a brand new Love Live! group will be debuting in Fall 2022, but with a twist that the group will be "Virtual School Idols," jumping on the VTuber trend that has taken over the world.
The new virtual group will still do everything the other Love Live! group do, including magazine shoots, story arcs, live concerts, and more, but will also have online activities more in line with virtual characters, though details on what those activities are haven't been confirmed at this point.
It looks like though while we are still in the middle of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club and Liella! generations, we'll be getting another group to enjoy!
