The DioField Chronicle Launches in September

Square Enix announced The DioField Chronicle will launch on September 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

A demo of the game will be made available on August 10. It covers the first chapter and progress from it carries over to the full game. Mafia Kajita and Yuichi Nakamura's Washagana TV hosted a livestream where they premiered over an hour of gameplay. The gameplay looks more like a real-time strategy game with unit movement like Valkyria Chronicles rather than a strict turn-based tactics game such as Fire Emblem.

Japan’s Square Enix Store will include a Collector’s Edition for The DioField Chronicle which costs about $120. It contains both a fully fledged board game and pin set. No such edition has been announced outside of Japan yet.

It’s unclear at the moment if the September 22 release is only for Japan, but it’s likely that it’s the worldwide release date.
